"About me" pages are always a bit awkward, especially since writing in first person and third person both sound awkward! I suppose it's logical to start at the beginning: I was born in Chicago and moved to Washington State when I was four years old, old enough to remember my favorite climbing tree but young enough to forget almost everything else. I currently live with my parents and seven siblings (my brother Jonathan is married!) at the top of two steep driveways where we have a great view of the Hood Canal and the Olympic Mountains. It's a bit rural, and we are often the first to lose power and the last to get it back -- but it's home!
I'm in an interesting season of life with many opportunities to grow, serve, and learn. Besides editing, I am also a bookkeeper, a church accompanist, a family "chauffeur," a devoted sister, a loyal friend, a part-time blogger, and a full-time follower of Jesus Christ whose calling takes on fuller meaning with each passing year. I truly believe that all the particulars of life will find their place when we "seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness" (Matthew 6:33). I don't know what the rest of my life will look like, but it is enough for me to be following Someone who does.
It is important to develop good writing skills, especially in the 21st century when communication affects every part of our lives. I can't remember a time that I didn't like to write! Writing builds bridges, connecting people over space, time, and generations. One day I would love to repair my grandfather's typewriter so that I can write on the same typewriter that he used to write letters to me.
In case you haven't noticed, I'm a fairly complex person with a crazy amount of interests! In addition to music and writing, I also enjoy thrift shopping, crocheting, and cooking! My favorite food is pad kee mao, and dark chocolate is a special treat. I am currently trying a Whole30 diet, and I might also be slightly obsessed with organizational tools, apps, and planners.
I would be happy to work with you and help you reach your academic and personal goals!
